Galaxy 107 FM is Kawerau's own community station, broadcasting on 107.1 FM to the small Bay of Plenty mill town and streaming online. Run under the Kawerau Community Radio Trust by enthusiastic local volunteers, it mixes adult contemporary and pop music with the things that matter in a close-knit town: local news, notices, interviews and community announcements. In a place where everyone knows everyone, Galaxy acts as a friendly town noticeboard with a soundtrack — giving local voices, clubs and events airtime they would never get on a national network.
