FRISKY began as a streaming experiment by Shoutcast team member Faisal Sultan in San Francisco in 2001 and relaunched in 2013 as an electronic-music subscription service, now based in New York City. Its programming is built on long-form, human-curated DJ mixes rather than individual tracks — underground house, progressive and trance sets from residents and international guests. A free stream runs alongside the premium tier, which removes ads and unlocks mix downloads.
