FRISKY began in San Francisco in 2001, when Faisal Sultan — a member of the original Shoutcast team — turned his test stream of electronic sets into a station. It grew into a curated home for underground dance music, built on exclusive DJ mixes from emerging and headline artists alike, and relaunched in 2013 as a subscription streaming service.
