Flava is NZME’s classic hip hop and R&B network, launched in 2004 with Stacey Morrison as an original breakfast host. Produced from NZME’s Auckland studios on Graham Street, it now plays old-school hip hop and R&B from the 1990s and 2000s — artists such as Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, Usher and Alicia Keys. Heard in markets including Auckland, Whangārei on 106 FM and Christchurch on 93.3 FM, Flava positions itself as the home of the golden age, competing directly with Mai FM for urban music listeners.
