Down in Grand Bay, the St. Patrick Parish village also called Berekua and often described as Dominica's cultural capital, Radio En Ba Mango holds a special place in island history: in the mid-1980s it made Grand Bay the first village in Dominica to have a radio station of its own. Owned by Urban Dangleben and heard on 93.5 and 96.9 FM, the station broadcasts close to the community it serves, in a village famous as a cradle of cadence-lypso music and for keeping the Kwéyòl language and Creole traditions alive in everyday life.
