East Coast Radio is KwaZulu-Natal’s big regional commercial station, broadcasting from Umhlanga to an audience of roughly two million people. It traces its roots to Radio Port Natal, which the SABC launched in Durban on 1 May 1967, and took on its present identity after privatisation in the 1990s under Kagiso Media. A sister station to Jacaranda FM, it blends hit music, local news and KZN-focused entertainment.
