Launched on 27 December 2007 with a licence to broadcast nationally from day one, Duma FM is one of Botswana's three private commercial stations and is based in Gaborone, where it is heard on 93.0 FM. Founded by a group of Batswana who wanted an information- and education-driven station, it builds its sound on adult contemporary hits split roughly evenly between talk and music. Its output deliberately serves both English and Setswana speakers, and it has distinguished itself as the only privately owned station in the country carrying news in Setswana.
