Country Classics KOUU serves southeast Idaho from Pocatello on 1290 AM and its 96.5 FM translator. The station first signed on in 1956 and today, under Idaho Wireless Corporation, devotes itself entirely to classic country — George Strait, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash — plus local high-school sports. With a 50,000-watt daytime AM signal, it is a big voice for a traditional format: the country legends, played the way Pocatello has heard them for decades.
