Chennai Live 104.8 FM, owned by the Muthoot Group, launched in August 2008 as India's first talk-format FM station and remains Chennai's only English-language radio station. Instead of wall-to-wall music, it runs conversation-led shows on current affairs, sport, business and city life, with international pop and rock as musical filler — a format aimed squarely at the informed, English-speaking Chennai listener.
