Cave FM is Gore's locally owned commercial station, broadcasting on 106.4 FM from Mersey Street in the Southland town. From its Gore base its signal and community focus reach across a wide rural catchment — Invercargill, Bluff, Riverton, Balclutha, Tapanui, Waikaia and Mossburn among them. The station champions local business and local news, mixes music with rural programming such as the Groundswell NZ show, and holds a quirky national record: one of its announcers once stayed on air continuously for 107 hours and 28 minutes.
