Capital London, on 95.8 MHz FM, is where the Capital brand began: it first broadcast on 16 October 1973 as Capital Radio, one of Britain's earliest legal commercial stations. Now owned by Global and the flagship of the national Capital network, it plays chart hit music all day, anchored by Capital Breakfast and the station's Summertime Ball and Jingle Bell Ball concerts.
