Capital FM London broadcasts on 95.8 FM from the capital, the originating station of Global's Capital network. London's Capital began life as the local station Capital Radio in October 1973, one of Britain's first legal commercial stations, before becoming the flagship of the national network in 2011. Its London breakfast show and hit-music format — today's biggest songs, entertainment news and huge competitions like Capital's Jingle Bell Ball promotion — define contemporary hit radio in the city.
