Port Vila listeners have known this signal since Friday 12 October 2012, when Trading Post Ltd — publisher of the Vanuatu Daily Post — put 96 Buzz FM on air for the first time. Broadcasting on 96.3 FM around the clock, the station mixes smooth music with comprehensive news on the hour and a streak of comedy, a blend its founder Marc Neil-Jones built from his own early years as a DJ. It remains one of the capital's few private commercial stations.
