Boom Radio launched on 14 February 2021 as an independent national station created specifically for baby boomers — listeners born between 1946 and 1964. Founded by radio executives Phil Riley and David Lloyd, it broadcasts nationally on the Sound Digital DAB multiplex and online. Its music spans mainly the 1950s to 1980s, and its presenter line-up revived familiar voices including Graham Dene, David Hamilton and 'Kid' Jensen for an audience its founders felt Radio 2 was leaving behind.
