BBC Radio London is the BBC's local station for the capital, broadcasting across Greater London on 94.9 FM and DAB — this stream is its online feed for listeners beyond the UK. It first launched on 6 October 1970, three years before commercial radio arrived in London, and has broadcast under names including GLR and BBC London 94.9 before returning to its original title. Its schedule mixes London news, phone-ins, sport and music for the city it serves.
