This is an alternative online stream of BBC Radio 5 Live, the BBC's national news and sport station. 5 Live began its 24-hour service on 28 March 1994, relaunching the original Radio 5, and broadcasts on 693 and 909 kHz medium wave, DAB and BBC Sounds. Its mix is rolling news, phone-ins and live sport — including 5 Live Breakfast, weekday debate and extensive football coverage — with Jane Garvey the first voice heard at its launch.
