Auckland 80’s is a themed online station for Auckland listeners who never left the decade of big choruses and bigger hair. Its playlist is devoted to 1980s pop and rock — synth-pop, new wave, stadium anthems and one-hit wonders from artists such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran and Bon Jovi. As a digital side-channel style service it keeps presentation light and music continuous, offering a nostalgia stream that sits comfortably alongside Auckland’s mainstream FM stations rather than competing with them directly.
