Animenfo grew out of the AnimeNfo anime information website, founded in October 2000; its radio station made its first internet broadcast on 15 July 2001, making it one of the longest-running anime music streams. Famous for its listener-request system, it plays anime themes, soundtracks and doujin music drawn from a catalogue that once held over 31,000 songs before the site closed in 2020.
