Alternative Radio is a weekly one-hour public affairs programme founded in 1986 by journalist David Barsamian in Boulder, Colorado, and offered free to public radio stations, which now number nearly 300. Each edition features lectures and interviews with thinkers largely absent from corporate media, among them Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Edward Said and Arundhati Roy. Barsamian's conversations, many later published as books, focus on politics, media, war and social movements.
