This stream is devoted to Quran recitation by Abdul Basit 'Abd us-Samad (1927–1988), the Egyptian qari known as the 'Golden Throat'. He joined Egyptian Radio in 1951 and became famous for his melodic mujawwad style, extraordinary breath and pitch control, and mastery of tajweed. An Islamic recitation stream rather than a Japanese station, it plays his recordings continuously for prayer, study and reflection.
