2XS FM is one of Palmerston North's pioneering local stations. It first went to air at 8:28am on 29 May 1981 on 828 AM, taking its name from its call sign, then moved to FM in 1986 as 92.2XS FM. Sold to RadioWorks in 1998, it was rebranded as More FM in 2005 — but the story didn't end there. In 2021, 2XS was relaunched under new ownership on 1548 AM, low-power 106.7 FM and online, reviving the beloved local brand with a classic pop mix spanning the decades its listeners grew up with.
