100.3FM South Canterbury is an independent local station based in central Timaru, broadcasting on 100.3 FM from Cave Hill with a relay on 106.2 FM in Fairlie. It arrived in 2018 under broadcaster James Valentine, who had earlier run Timaru's Heat FM and spent 17 years with the Port FM network. The playlist leans on anthems of the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s alongside current favourites, but the point of difference is localism: community stories, local issues and South Canterbury voices, produced by and for the people of Timaru, Temuka, Geraldine and the wider district.
