An internet-only station run entirely by volunteers, Dandelion Radio was founded in June 2006 to carry on the spirit of John Peel, taking its name from Dandelion Records, the label Peel ran between 1969 and 1972. Within months of its launch it had been handed Peel's legendary Festive Fifty listeners' chart, which it still compiles every year. Its DJs play new, unsigned and wilfully obscure music across every genre, with exclusively recorded sessions in the Peel tradition.
