Poole's own community station, Hot Radio broadcasts on 102.8 FM across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole conurbation and on DAB throughout Dorset. It launched on 8 November 2008 as The Bay 102.8 before rebranding as Hot Radio in February 2012, and remains community-owned and not-for-profit, run largely by volunteers. Days are built on upbeat rhythmic music — dance, soul, funk and R&B from the 1990s to today's chart — with local traffic, jobs and what's-on information woven in.
