Star FM Manila on 102.7 FM is Bombo Radyo's masa-format music station for the capital, run by People's Broadcasting Service, Inc. Its dial position has a storied past: it began in 1978 as DWXB and won fame in the 1980s as WXB 102, the country's new wave pioneer, until Bombo Radyo took over and rebranded it Star FM in April 1994, pairing OPM and pop programming with Bombo Network News bulletins.
