KID Newsradio traces its roots to December 1928, when it signed on in Idaho Falls as KGIO before taking the KID call letters in 1929; it settled at 590 AM in 1950 and became eastern Idaho's signature news/talk voice. The AM signal signed off in 2023, but the brand continues on FM in Idaho Falls and Pocatello, carrying local news and syndicated talk for the region.
