Worcester's WICN (90.5 FM) bills itself as 'Jazz+ for New England,' and it has the history to back the claim. It began in 1969 as the Worcester Inter-Collegiate Network, a joint venture of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the College of the Holy Cross, joined NPR in 1980, and has focused on jazz since the mid-1990s — calling itself the last jazz station in New England. Evenings add blues, folk, bluegrass and Americana from its studios in Worcester's Printers Building.
