Based in Newtongrange and run entirely by volunteers through the Midlothian Community Media Association, Black Diamond FM is Midlothian's community radio station. Its first live transmission went out at 7am on 21 May 2007 on 107.8 FM, opening with 'I'm On My Way' by The Proclaimers, and it now also broadcasts on 100.7 FM. Serving east and central Midlothian around the clock, it mixes community-focused daytime programmes with specialist music shows and local information.
